“Attack on Titan” season 3, episode 3 could be one of the exciting installments in the anime series. A brief video preview is rather mysterious and talks about a secret which many fans saw as alluding to the truth about Historia and Erwin’s past.
The official title of “Attack on Titan” season 3, episode 3, “Old Story,” is also making it more obvious that the next episode could be tackling a major story from the past. “A girl’s past… It’s a secret big enough to change the kingdom,” the narrator says as the video preview shows Historia’s face.
As the “Attack on Titan” season 3, episode 3 preview continues, it was further hinted that whatever this secret past is will also affect Erwin. The narrator adds, “Once this secret is known to Erwin, he remembers a past of his own.”
Fans of the popular manga-turned-anime franchise are just approaching “Attack on Titan” season 3, episode 3 but many have already noticed a lot of changes. For one, there have been comments that the creators are apparently telling the story of “Attack on Titan” at a much faster pace.
This issue was recently addressed by no less than series creator Hajime Isayama. In a blog post (translation via Anime News Network), Isayama explained, “Honestly, it's like I was out of gas. … I requested that we reform it into a suitable scale for the role of the story.”
Meanwhile, “Attack on Titan” season 3 has indeed touched on many heavy subjects and there are only two episodes that have aired to date. In the first episode, the characters were seen handling the death and torture of Pastor Nick. The protagonists are suspecting that people in the government are looking to destroy the Survey Corps and Pastor Nick refused to give substantial intel. Then, in “Attack on Titan” season 3, episode 2 fans were treated to an action-packed combat between Levi and the serial killer Kenny the Ripper.
Coming to “Attack on Titan” season 3, episode 3, Levi’s team is still recovering from their mission of retrieving Historia and Eren. The popular anime series is expected to continue on Aug. 5.
