Unfortunately, the airing of “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 was delayed for an entire week. But on a good note, the next episode is highly important as it marks the start of a new arc and another great mission.
After retaining peace within the Walls and witnessing the coronation of Historia as the new queen, the Survey Corps have no time to rest. In “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11, their longtime goal of reclaiming Shiganshina will begin.
Shiganshina is one of the most important districts in the entire series. It is where some of the major characters were born or raised, including Eren, Mikasa, and Armin. However, it was always in danger of a Titan attack since it is located in the southern part of the Walls. “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 will most likely show how Shiganshina and Wall Maria totally fell into the hands of the enemies and Titans 20 years ago.
The preview for “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 tells fans several things about the upcoming episode. For one, a younger Grisha is seen at one point, confirming that the upcoming episode will follow the events in its manga counterpart.

“Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 is titled “Bystander,” which is similar to manga chapter 71 — the start of the "Return to Shiganshina" arc. The beginning of the arc is expected to focus on Keith Shadis, Erwin’s Survey Corps commander predecessor, and his stories from 20 years ago.
Fans will get a glimpse of how Grisha entered the Walls and how he met Carla in “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11. Through Keith's memories, viewers will be brought back to 20 years ago, when the enemies and the Titans finally seized Shiganshina and Wall Maria.
If “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 extends to more than one manga chapter, fans will likely witness the first battle of the Survey Corps in the new arc. The first goal is to retake Wall Maria.
Aside from reclaiming Shiganshina and Wall Maria, it can be recalled that the Survey Corps has another target destination. In the earlier parts of the series, the protagonists always believed that more answers about the Titans can be found in the basement of Eren’s house in Shiganshina. And in “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11, they will be one step closer to that.
“Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 was originally scheduled to air last Sunday. Unfortunately, there has been a brief hiatus, pushing its release to Oct. 7.
