The latest development regarding “Attack on Titan” Chapter 117 reveals that the chapter is finally done and that it will be released as scheduled. Even though leaks with regards to the chapter have yet to reach the web, there are plenty of speculations to go around. Among the most likely is the matter of Eldia getting destroyed by the attack that Marley is about to launch.
The end of the previous chapter saw the Marleyans finally showing themselves via a Titan attack and the appearance of the airships above the city, OtakuKart reports. This means that Eren will now have to fight if he is going to continue with his plans. While this may not be the first time that a titan showed up in the middle of the town, the situation in “Attack on Titan” Chapter 117 will be quite different.
The last time that a titan showed up right in the middle of the city was when the Survey Corp. was trying to capture Annie. During that time, the Marleyan spy was simply trying to escape, so damage to the town was minimal. However, the situation in “Attack on Titan” Chapter 117 is that the aggressors are here to attack. This means that a fight between Eren and the other titans in the field will result in substantial wreckage.
In terms of sheer destructive implications, Eldia is basically on the verge of ruin now that the Marleyan forces have shown up. If Armin should also shift in the middle of the battle, the damage could be multiplied. This is why he might try to stay out of the fight in “Attack on Titan” Chapter 117.
By catching Eren in such a pincer attack, Marley has basically played its hand. The only way that the protagonist can fight back, at this point, is by showing that he doesn’t care about the Eldians at all. Either way, fans will see soon enough if “Attack on Titan” Chapter 117 will allow Eren to show his true colors on May 9.
