On October 24, the 18 unit complex in Southwest Houston caught fire during the landfall of Tropical Storm Patricia. One resident lost her life in the blaze and most others lost everything they owned. Associa PMG Houston is the management company for Hearthwood, and its employees took it upon themselves to donate clothes, money and household goods to the families.
"It is incredible to see the compassion our employees have for the residents that we serve," says PMG Houston Senior Vice President David Orr. "Watching the Associa family come together to help out real families during the holidays makes me thankful to be a part of a team that puts others' needs ahead of their own and truly defines customer service."
More than 500 articles of clothing were donated along with hundreds of non-perishable food items and household goods. The Associa PMG Houston office also held a "jean month" for November and December allowing employees to wear jeans for a $25 monthly donation which was distributed to several families who did not have insurance.
