It has only been a few months since Ubisoft confirmed it is developing a mobile game currently called “Assassin's Creed: Codename Jade.” But more information is now available about its gameplay, thanks to recently leaked videos.

Access to an early beta test for “Assassin's Creed Jade” has leaked through a Google Docs file, according to this Reddit post. And this seemed to have led to multiple videos being shared online that show new details about character creation and some early missions in the game.

“Assassin's Creed Jade” is a AAA mobile game with RPG action-adventure elements set in China in 215 BCE. When it was announced in September, executive producer Marc-Alexis Côté said it would feature all the “iconic gameplay” featured in previous “Assassin's Creed” titles. This is corroborated by some of the gameplay scenes shown in the leaks.

In this nearly 20-minute YouTube video, the playable character can be seen using a zipline to travel across the Yongning Village. In another video, which shows an infiltration mission, the character is seen parkouring on top of buildings before doing a Leap of Faith and then landing and hiding in haystacks.

The longer video also shows character creation options, confirming that players can choose a male or female character. The “Assassin's Creed Jade” beta has four character presets, but there are also options to customize various facial features of the character.

The introductory mission introduces two key characters, including the “Juzi of the Mohists” named Dengling Bai and the “Leader of Moxia” named “Wei Yu.” These characters get into action at the start of the game to protect Yongning Village from Xiongnu raiders, whose chieftain will be taken down by Dengling Bai later on.

In another mission, players will have to steal the Yan Chuan Permit from the official residence of the Yangzhou governor. The leaked videos are enough to give fans an idea of what to expect from “Assassin's Creed Jade.” But since these are from a beta version of the game, fans should also expect changes once the game is officially released.

Ubisoft has yet to announce when “Assassin's Creed Jade” will be released. It is also just one of the ongoing projects the publisher has for the franchise. Ubisoft also announced the development of the next main series installment “Assassin's Creed: Mirage”, to be released in 2023, along with another mobile game to launch via Netflix Games.
