‘Arrow’ season 4 will be airing its 23rd episode entitled “Schism” on May 25. It will feature an epic showdown between Ollie and Damien Darhk in Star City amid an impending nuclear attack.
The synopsis posted on Carter Matt reads, “Oliver (Stephen Amell) teams up with a surprising force in an attempt to stop Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and his magic once and for all.” It doesn’t give much away except that that a final showdown is imminent as Damien returns seeking revenge.
The upcoming episode’s promo teaser opened with the city in turmoil and a voice-over stating an impending nuclear attack. Darhk then says, “This is a mercy killing.” A scene with Ollie giving the citizens a prep talk is also featured towards the end.
Several spoiler images posted on Melty suggested that Oliver’s squad will be making appearances as well including Spartan (David Ramsey), Felicity a.k.a. Overwatch (Emily Bett Rickards) and Curtis (Echo Kellum) and that a final battle will take place in the center of Starling City.
Meanwhile, Amell teased that the series’ next seasons will usher in a new villain. According to Variety, “I’ve heard that our big bad, our villain, is something that you can really only do once you’re in the fifth, sixth or seventh season of a TV show.” Although he didn’t go into specifics, he teased, “As far as I know, they don’t have superpowers. I’ll tell you that.”
The 35-year old Canadian actor also expressed his enthusiasm over the planned crossovers between ‘Arrow’ and three other shows, ‘Flash’, ‘Legends’ and ‘Supergirl’.
Amell said, “I’m always interested and it’s always great for fans. I just have to make sure that they balance keeping up the quality of your show — last year when they wanted me to come to ‘Legends’ and play old Oliver, I was like, ‘That would be awesome, but show me how this works in our schedule so it’s not comprising whatever episode we’re working on.’ And it was great and we did it. So I would just like to see a plan.”
‘Arrow’ season finale is scheduled to air on May 25 on the CW.
