Angelina Jolie Reportedly Picked as Lead for Celine Dion Biopic but ‘Maleficent’ Star Snubbed the Offer

Angelina Jolie was said to have refused when she was offered to star as Celine Dion in the singer’s biopic movie. The “My Heart Will Go On” singer allegedly chose the “Maleficent” actress to play as her in the movie that will tell about her life but despite being personally picked, Brad Pitt’s ex straightly turned her down.

Australia’s NW magazine reported that Celine was snubbed and she was disappointed with Angelina. The magazine stated that the actress would have been the perfect choice since she is also very thin, suggesting that one of the factors that Angelina was chosen was due to her body frame.

“For years Celine’s big passion has been a musical movie adaption of her life, career and marriage to Rene Angelil and she was all set on Angie landing the part,” the source allegedly told the magazine, “However, Jolie has passed because her schedule is simply too full to take on another film project.”

Celine Dion was said to be devastated following Angelina Jolie’s refusal for the biopic film so she might just scrap the project altogether. Gossip Cop can confirm that this report is false as it was able to talk with Brad Pitt’s ex’s reps and was told that the claims are not true. Besides, the GC pointed out that Celine’s biopic will center on the story about how she rose to fame so it means that a younger actress must play her part.

Meanwhile, it was only in February this year when Celine Dion revealed her biopic is in the works. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the English-language film will be directed by Quebec-based director Marc-Andre Lavoie and it will show how the iconic singer was brought up by her family before she became an international star. Celine’s life with husband Rene when he was still her manager will also be featured. The upcoming movie is called “The Power of Love, Celine” and a French version will also be released.
