AMD already introduced its AMD Ryzen 9 3950x, and tech enthusiasts are excited about its release. Apparently, this is part of the Ryzen 3000 chip family, and experts are already testing it to see its capacity and most are blown away with its power and speed.
The American multinational semiconductor company based in Santa Clara, California already launched a series of processors in July but the newest, AMD Ryzen 9 3950x was not included in that batch of release. They are guessing that this is the most powerful of the Ryzen 3000 group and probably the last in the series so it will be given a separate launching date.
Breaking world records
Prior to its anticipated launch in the market, the AMD Ryzen 9 3950x already broke at least three benchmarking world records so far. According to We PC, the following are the records that it made after being tested to evaluate its performance capabilities.
Cinebench R15: Ryzen 9 3950X at 5434 points, besting the previous record of Intel Core’s i9-9960X with 5320 points. Under Cinebench R20 testing, the chip showed 12,167 points while the previous best was Intel Core i9-7960X with 10,895 points. Lastly, at Geekbench 4 test, the 3950X recorded 65,499 points versus Core i9-7960X’s 60,991points.
Specifications
The AMD Ryzen 9 3950x has great specifications to offer to its users. Firstly, it is a 16-core, 32-thread mainstream AM4 socket processor. It has a base clock of 3.5GHz and max boost clock of 4.7GHz.
Total L2 cache is 8MB while its L3 cache is 64MB and another one of its good traits is, even with its record-breaking power, the maximum heat it generates is just 105W which is the default TDP. The AMD Ryzen 9 3950x will be compatible for use with the 300/400 motherboards series.
Price and release date
The AMD Ryzen 9 3950X is said to be introduced to the market at $749, as per Tech Radar. This is a good price for a chip with record-breaking numbers under its name. While there is no specific date given yet, there are two predicted dates which are Sept. 7 and 9, but since it is already the 8th, then fans can look forward to the predicted Sept. 9 release.
