NEW ALBANY, Ind., Aug. 21, 2017 -- 1st Choice Health & Wellness is making it easier for patients to live long, happy lives by offering heart disease testing through Boston Heart Diagnostics. The program is designed to help individuals assess their risk and make appropriate lifestyle changes—including diet and fitness—after receiving the results.
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), over a 600,000 Americans die from complications associated with heart disease each year; a startling statistic that accounts for nearly one in four deaths in the United States. Those who wish to take part in the testing simply schedule a blood draw appointment at the clinic. From there, the blood work is sent off to Boston Heart Diagnostics’ lab for an in-depth analysis of the patient’s current and future risk for heart disease. These tests can determine a patient’s risk of developing diabetes, measures their HDL and LDL cholesterol levels, and measures fatty acid levels. Once the results are returned, a follow-up appointment is scheduled where the next steps are decided on.

These changes often include setting realistic diet and fitness goals, reducing stress, and utilizing chiropractic care to adjust spinal imbalances so that the heart and blood vessels can efficiently communicate with the central nervous system.
