One of the rumored Apple projects was a device dubbed in reports as the iPhone X Mini. However, tech fans can still expect the Cupertino, California-based company to unveil a lineup of all-new iPhones in 2019.

Early reports about the new iPhones arriving this year hints at Apple starting a new tradition of releasing three refreshed smartphones every year. In 2018, the company introduced the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. It is now being rumored that there would be three variants of the 2019 iPhone. However, it does not seem like one of the three devices will be called iPhone X Mini.

There were previous claims, based on a set of schematics, that Apple was planning to release the so-called iPhone X Mini with dimensions that are closer to iPhone SE. This is also the likely reason why the rumored smaller smartphone was thought to be Apple’s response to fans looking for the iPhone SE 2.

iPhone X Mini was reportedly planned (via Forbes) to be a tad smaller than the iPhone SE. The device, which has yet to make an official debut, was supposedly designed as a 4.8-inch x 2.2-inch smartphone. iPhone SE measures 4.87 inches x 2.31 inches.

In 2018, Apple did release a tad smaller, “budget-friendly” smartphone that was called iPhone XR. However, it is designed significantly bigger than the rumored iPhone X Mini that measures 5.94 inches x 2.98 inches.

As for Apple’s 2019 plans, iPhone X Mini does not seem to be in the pipeline as well. According to MacRumors, the company is expected to introduce three new iPhones with not much different in size compared to the devices unveiled in 2018. Apple is speculated to release a 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch iPhones with OLED displays and a 6.1-inch LCD variant.

It is still too early to hear official updates about the 2019 iPhones. However, Apple will most likely maintain its annual schedule of events and new smartphones might debut in September.
