U.S. consumer confidence index likely to have fallen in September

The U.S. Conference Board’s consumer sentiment index is set to release tomorrow. The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence and the University of Michigan’s Survey of Consumers are the two most widely followed measures of how consumers feel. Currently, these measures are not in agreement.

The consumer sentiment is expected to have dropped in the month of September, following the recovery it registered in the month of August. According to a Wells Fargo research report, the consumer confidence index is likely to have fallen to 133 from August’s 135.1.
