Turkish sectoral sentiment indices rise in September

Turkish services sentiment index rose in the month of September. On a seasonally adjusted basis, services confidence index rose 0.2 percent to 89.3 in September from August’s 89.1. Within the service sector, business situation and demand-turnover indices rose 1.9 percent and 1 percent, respectively, to 87 and 85.4. Demand-turnover expectation index dropped 2.2 percent to 95.4.

Meanwhile, the seasonally adjusted retail trade confidence index rose 2.7 percent to 97.6 in September. Within the retail trade sector; business activity-sales index rose 4.1 percent to 89, whereas the current volume of stock and business activity-sales expectations indices rose 1 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively, to 105.8 and 98.1.

The confidence index for construction rose 8.3 percent to 60.1 in September from August’s 60.1. Within the construction sector, current overall order books and total employment expectation indices rose 6.6 percent and 9.4 percent, respectively, to 44.4 and 75.9.
