The first of four post-launch content planned for “Tiny Tina's Wonderlands” is going live this week titled “Coiled Captors.” One of the main goals is to free the new boss named Chums after being captured for centuries. However, players will have to defeat him first.
Gearbox announced the details for “Coiled Captors” in a blog post on Tuesday. The DLC highlights a new replayable dungeon where most of the new missions and stories will likely be revealed. The replayability of the upcoming dungeon also lines up with the main characteristic of Chums. The new boss has four different forms that get increasingly powerful because he learns new attacks and abilities in every transformation.
Chums' first form will be revealed on the same day the “Tiny Tina's Wonderlands” DLC is released on Thursday, April 21. His three consecutive transformations will, respectively, take place on April 28, May 5, and May 12. All forms will unlock at 9:30 a.m. PT on these dates. “Note that he'll only grow into a new form if you've already defeated the previous one — and if you take on Coiled Captors after these dates have passed, you'll still need to defeat all four forms in order to hear Vesper's full story,” Gearbox added.
While many players may like the replayability nature of the DLC, Gearbox’s description of its gameplay sounds challenging. It only takes dying once for players to go back from the start. The “Tiny Tina's Wonderlands” DLC can be accessed through Vesper’s first Mirror of Mystery located in Dreamveil Overlook. Before facing Chums, “Tiny Tina's Wonderlands” players will also have to go through a horde of snake people that will have a baseline level of 13. And if the players are defeated once, they will have to return to the said starting point.
Players who have purchased the “Tiny Tina's Wonderlands” Season Pass will have automatic access to “Coiled Captors.” The Season Pass is also included in the game’s Chaotic Great Edition. Others who have only purchased the Standard Edition can buy the DLCs separately.
