Anime fans around the world have many things to look forward to in 2020, and “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 is one of those. Though they still have to wait a few more months for the show’s return, the producers have finally announced at which month the series will premiere.
‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 release date window is finally announced
Producers of “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 welcomed the new year with the announcement that it will premiere in July. It can be recalled that the show’s return and production were confirmed last October. Fans might have to wait until there are only a few weeks left before the month of July to learn about the show’s specific release date.

Meanwhile, waiting until July arrives should not be difficult for avid fans of the franchise. It took more than five years since the airing of the first season before “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 was confirmed. Many fans have understandably lost hope that the show will ever continue, especially when the anime film “The Irregular at Magic High School: The Girl Who Calls the Stars” was released in 2017.
The movie featured an original story and was not based on the “The Irregular at Magic High School” light novel series by Tsutomu Sato. However, its timeline would fall after the events of season 1, sparking some speculations then that it might have been the producers’ way to close the anime adaptation efforts.
It should be noted, though, that Sato’s light novel series maintained its popularity over the years. Aside from the anime continuation, it was also recently reported that more light novel arcs would get its manga versions showing that the franchise is doing well on all fronts. As for “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2, Madhouse will no longer produce it, but Eight Bit studio – the producer of the said movie – has been working on the series return.

“The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 will be based on the Visitor Arc covered in volumes 9 to 11 of the light novel. Tatsuya will once again find himself in the center of the conflict when the United States of North America suspects he is somehow involved in the unexplained rising number of deserters that escape to Japan. USNA sends an elite soldier named Angelina Kudou Shields to spy on him by initially posing as a student in the First High.
