“The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 is coming up next and the good news is that on-going works were spotted on Nova Scotia’s famous island. The show has not been officially renewed yet by History but all signs point to the fact that renewal will be announced at any moment now.
The activities on the Oak Island is already a telling sign that fans will still see the show through season 8 but its consistent good viewership ratings is another reason why it will surely be back.
In the finale of the previous seventh installment, Rick, Marty Lagina and their team including Gary Drayton also said that they have intentions to continue with their quest to find the Money Pit.
Filming and digging equipment spotted on the island
There is no update coming from History, the show’s producers or even the Lagina brothers; however, it was recently revealed that works have resumed on Oak Island. Someone who lives in the vicinity is running a social media page where she shares the activities that she sees.
Karen Publicover also posts photos often and uploads them on Oak Island from the Other Side of the Causeway Facebook page. This is visited by avid fans of the show because they can get real-time updates.
In her posts, it seems that activities have resumed since June and she even mentioned that the crew have followed the strict 14-day quarantine before proceeding to Oak Island. She said there were drones and by July production film crew has arrived so the traffic in their territory has increased once again. Big equipment, trucks and crane also started coming in.
Activities on the island
In June, Publicover shared that she did not see any movements in Smith’s Cove or the swamp. Everything around it was quiet and she only noticed works going on around the 10X. In July, some activities in the assumed Money Pit were spotted.
Then again, she reiterated that she has not seen Rick or Marty Lagina yet. Still, the works could be for “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8.
In her latest update on Aug. 23, Publicover posted photos of the swamp. She said that there is a crane beside that area plus a small excavator is also working.
Meanwhile, “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 filming seems to have started but there is no premiere date yet as of this time. Perhaps, it will be ready some time in the second half of 2021.
