‘The Curse of Oak Island’ Season 6 Air Date, Spoilers: Showrunner Reveals New Details as Filming Begins Earlier Than Planned

“The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 is a much-anticipated installment because viewers would like to know more about what the team had uncovered in the fifth season. Firstly, he revealed that the upcoming episodes would delve more into the medieval cross that was discovered in the previous season.

He added that Marty Lagina has also teamed up with “Ancient Aliens” Giorgio A. Tsoukalos so they can investigate the Sardinian ruins in Italy. Burns, who produces both “The Curse of Oak Island” and “Ancient Aliens,” relayed that there will be a crossover episode and it will show the two explorers checking out the ancient carvings and megalithic sites in Sardinia.

Early Filming Schedule

“The Curse of Oak Island” is now back to filming and apparently, the team started earlier than originally scheduled. The cast and the production staff were spotted in Nova Scotia and they were on the move around the island.

As to why they decided to begin early, it was explained that it is because they have a lot to do after unearthing the medieval cross and other valuables like the gemstone brooch, a parchment, bookbinding, pottery and even bones that were later confirmed to be from a human.

Perhaps, they also want to produce more episodes like they did in season 5 that yielded a total of 18 chapters, the highest number so far since the show was launched in 2014. The discovery of the mentioned items, especially the cross, also gave the team high hopes that more and bigger treasures could be buried in the area, so they want the exploration to begin as soon as possible.

“I think the cross that we found, which was extraordinary and we’re still doing testing on it — we can’t seem to find any evidence of a cross of that shape or construction that is any more recent than the 1300s or earlier,” he shared.

The most interesting thing is that some experts say that there is a chance that it could have been left there by a Knight Templar, and it could serve as evidence that they actually landed in the area before Columbus did.
