Tesla Inc. is expanding its workforce and searching for new prototype vehicle operators. The EV maker launched recruitment for the said job role in 15 cities in the United States.
Areas Targeted by Tesla’s Job Listing
Tesla’s new job offering is a full-time position, and new hires will join its vehicle data collection team. This is an important role because the team is responsible for enhancing electric vehicle self-driving capabilities.
As per Teslarati, on the company’s Career Page, it was indicated that it targets certain regions to recruit Prototype Vehicle Operators. It was mentioned that so far, the job listings were already posted in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; Houston, Texas; Miami, Florida; Littleton, Colorado; Bellevue, Washington; Jacksonville, Florida; Draper, Utah; Elgin, Illinois; Bridgeville, Pennsylvania; Peabody, Massachusetts; Arlington, Virginia; Atlanta, Georgia; Lenexa, Kansas; Clarkston, Michigan; and Farmer’s Branch, Texas.
Specific Role Description
At Tesla, the prototype vehicle operator is a crucial part of the team, and they work for data collection efforts. The data is used to help the automaker develop and advance its Autopilot and Robotics technologies.
The job applicants are expected to be attentive to detail, highly motivated, and able to maintain confidentiality. The job listing indicated that they must also be proficient in the English language and have strong computer skills, especially in MS Office applications. Lastly, Benzinga reported that candidates must also have a valid driver’s license.
Tesla offers a flexible work schedule with shifts from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The new recruits may be assigned to work from Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday. It should be noted that prototype vehicle operators usually work overtime.
