“Starcraft” is one of Blizzard’s most iconic IPs, and now rumors are swirling that the company is planning on releasing a remastered version of the game in the near future. Apparently, this is just one of several plans to reintroduce legendary titles to the new generation with improved graphics.

Blizzard could be set on finally giving fans the original Starcraft game that they have been itching to play again, but can’t stand the outdated graphics, Kotaku reports. The site spotted a report made by a respected news outlet in South Korea called “iNews24,” and apparently, they have sources confirming the planned release of a remastered version of the real-time strategy video game.

“Today, multiple sources with knowledge of Blizzard internal plans said that Blizzard will reveal StarCraft HD to the public this September,” iNews24 reported. “The StarCraft HD remastered version will retain the original gameplay and is said to have improved graphics resolution and user interface (UI).”

Even though the release date is supposedly scheduled for September, there are no details as to the exact date. However, it would be safe to assume that it will be after the “Starcraft II” competition in Mexico wraps up, since that date makes the most sense.

Supposedly, Blizzard is planning on making more announcements during the “BlizzCon” events, which will be held in Anaheim this November. These details could be pertaining to the other video games that the company will be remastering, namely “Diablo II” and “Warcraft III,” Ars Technica speculates.

Aside from the improved graphics, however, no other details have been revealed regarding any of the remastered games. With regards to Starcraft, there has been no mention if both single player and multiplayer contents will be featured. There’s also no mention of the inclusion of the “Brood War” expansion pack. Fans will just have to wait to learn more.
