Shiba Inu’s Shibarium blockchain hit an unprecedented all-time high, with activity spiking by 1,557% in just 24 hours. This surge pushed daily transactions to an astonishing 1.76 million, marking a significant milestone for the network.
Shibarium Activity Sees Massive 1,557% Spike
A massive increase of 1,557 percent in the value of Shiba Inu (SHIB) on Shibarium has put the cryptocurrency back in the spotlight. Shibariumscan data shows that the layer-2 blockchain created and used by the popular meme-inspired coin experienced a surge in value of that amount in the past day.
The active accounts statistic experienced a dramatic increase, going from 1,685 to 26,237 in a single day. With only 3,814 new addresses joining the network, this surge in activity within Shibarium was mostly caused by existing accounts.
Active Accounts Hit Record Highs
However, U.Today points out that what really matters is that it appears to be a new record high for active Shibarium accounts.
The Shiba Inu blockchain experienced an unexpected surge in activity, leading to a 1,380% increase in the number of new daily transactions, from 128,047 to 1.76 million.
Highest Transaction Volume in Over Six Months
Extending the celebration a notch further, we can state that the popular cryptocurrency's dedicated network had its highest daily transaction value since March of this year—that is, for over six months—thanks to this spike.
Uncertainty Surrounds Shibarium's Future Growth
The relevance of such a discovery on Shibarium is yet unknown. There is also a lack of clarity in the data on the network-based ecosystem applications.
In fact, over the time period under consideration, the aggregate value that was locked in the Shibarium blockchain shrank rather than increased.
