Seungri Denies Gambling and Prostitution Allegations, Says He Was Just Bluffing and Showing Off

Seungri is currently being investigated for suspicions of engaging in the prostitution trade and gambling. The probe is not yet over and more details are emerging with each passing day.

Nothing has been proven yet and the former Big Bang member stated that the allegations hurled against him are false. He denied the charges especially those relating to sex crimes, gambling and corruption.

Via phone interview with the news outlet Sisa Journal, Seungri said that he did not gamble or engaged in prostitution. He explained that he was charged because of the KakaoTalk chatroom conversations but what he and his friends were talking about on the messenger were false. He said that he was only bluffing and bragging at the time since he was talking to his close pals.

“Didn’t all of these events begin with the conversations from the KakaoTalk chatrooms? Just as we wrote ‘police chief,’ we were just fooling around, just friends who were bluffing and showing off without knowing anything,” Seungri said in the interview. “These things have caused a public opinion that I’m involved in tax evasion and police collusion. Honestly, I’m in a situation where even if I tell the truth, no one will believe it.”

He went on to say, “Even the investigators believe that the contents of the KakaoTalk chatrooms and assumed they are all true and considered evidence. I’m afraid I won’t be judged fairly to be right or wrong because I am a famous celebrity. Lastly, he firmly said that he did not engage in gambling abroad and this is the same with the prostitution service.

Seungri also said that he is currently in a position where he cannot even complain of the injustice or refute the allegations because everyone already believes in the contents of the chatrooms.

Meanwhile, Seungri requested for his mandatory military service to be postponed citing the investigations. The Military Manpower Administration (MMA) approved the request so his enlistment will be moved to a later date.
