Seba Bank, a cryptocurrency bank based in Switzerland, has rebranded. It has changed its name to AMINA, and this was announced on Thursday, Nov. 30.
The Swiss crypto bank shared it decided to change its name as its ambitions in the business also grew. Its major objective is to expand its crypto trading services worldwide, not only in Switzerland but also in a few other countries.
Decision to Rebrand
As per CoinTelegraph, Seba Bank AG is now called Amina Bank AG, and the financial firm’s chief explained it made the move for a reason. “We opted to change our name from SEBA Bank due to similarities with SEB Bank in Sweden. SEB Bank and SEBA Bank agreed to a name change in 2023,” the company’s CEO told the publication.
Moreover, the new name comes as Seba Bank is actively exerting efforts to expand its product offerings worldwide. It was first launched in 2018 as a major player in the cryptocurrency space and has been serving clients with crypto-related services.
Meaning of Seba Bank’s New Name
The company said it chose the name AMINA because it has a special meaning. It was explained that the term was from the word “transAMINAtion” which means transference of one compound to another. The name is a brand driven by endless change which brings together different “compounds” or facets of digital banking, traditional, and crypto banking to offer potential growth for both the company and customers.
“We are delighted to introduce the world to our new brand identity. While we say goodbye to the SEBA name, we remain forever proud of the achievements made by the group under the former brand,” AMINA’s chief executive officer, Franz Bergmueller, said in a press release. “Our brand signifies a new era in the company’s growth and strategy; we are a key player in crypto banking and are here to define the future of finance.”
The CEO added, “With our client-focused approach, and our years of traversing traditional and crypto finance, we offer a platform for investors to build wealth safely and under the highest regulatory standards.”
Lastly, Bergmueller expressed gratitude to their committed investors, who he said have been supportive and helpful to the growth of Seba, now AMINA. He also thanked the company’s employees serving in their offices in various locations for their dedication and client focus.
Meanwhile, the rebranded company said that its branch office in Abu Dhabi will also apply for a name change to AMINA. Its units based in Singapore and Hong Kong will also do the same, so all of them will align with the headquarters in Zug, Switzerland.
