Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Thursday that citizens of Mexico, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia can seek tourist visas under an expanded program, Gulf News reported Friday.

Visit Saudi lists three options for eligible applicants: an eVisa available online, a visa on arrival for those who meet the kingdom's requirements, and a transit or stopover visa for travelers passing through Saudi Arabia, Gulf News reported. Applicants must meet separate conditions for each visa type.

The tourist visa can be used to attend events and entertainment activities, perform Umrah, participate in exhibitions and conferences, or visit relatives and friends, according to the Gulf News account. The ministry said visitors remain subject to Saudi regulations and instructions.

Gulf News described the expansion as part of Saudi Arabia's effort to widen international access for tourism, religious visits and business-related travel. The change adds the four nationalities to those eligible to apply, while the requirements for each visa option remain in place.
