“SK8 The Infinity” Season 2 is hitting the small screens soon! There is no denying that the feel-good skateboarding anime was one of 2021’s most surprising hits. It was with endearing characters, inventive action sequences, and just enough queer longing to warm the heart of even the most stoic skater.
The announcement that fans would be seeing more of Langa and Reki in “SK8 The Infinity” Season 2 was perhaps the most startling. Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming “SK8 The Infinity” Season 2.
‘SK8 The Infinity’ Season 2 Release Date
“SK8 The Infinity” Season 2 was confirmed in August 2022 via an announcement on the show's official Twitter account, but no release date was given, per Digital Spy. The statement also teased an impending OVA, which means that even if we don't know when the program will return, SK8 fans have a lot to look forward to.
There has been no additional word on the debut of “SK8 The Infinity” Season 2 as of this writing. However, if we had to estimate, the imminent second installment would premiere during the Fall 2023 anime season at the earliest.
‘SK8 The Infinity’ Season 2 Cast
The official plot for “SK8 The Infinity” Season 2 is unknown, hence it's unclear who from the original cast will return. That being stated, fans may anticipate seeing the primary duo of Reki Kyan and Langa Hasegawa, who are voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi (Japanese) and Howard Wang (English); and Tasuku Hatanaka (Japanese), and Matt Shipman (English), respectively.
The “SK8 The Infinity” Season 2 announcement also revealed that the majority of the show's production staff, including show creator and director Hiroko Utsumi and character designer Michinori Chiba, would return.
‘SK8 The Infinity’ Season 2 Spoilers
Unfortunately, because the anime series is not based on a previously published manga, there are no spoilers for what might happen in “SK8 The Infinity” Season 2, per Game Rant. The first installment also had a rather definitive finish, leaving us to wonder what the future holds.
In case you missed it, the series finale included one final race between Langa and the series villain Adam. Finally, Langa's attitude and relationship with Reki reach Adam, who realizes why he likes skating in the first place - before being imprisoned shortly after losing.
