BILLINGS, Mont., Sept. 14, 2017 -- Rocky Mountain Bank, a Billings-based community bank serving businesses and individuals from 11 branch offices statewide, announced that Kevin Tenpas will join the bank as president and CEO effective January 1, 2018. Current president and CEO, Curtis Chrystal, who has 35 years in banking has led the bank since 2013 will be assuming the position of president and CEO of Wisconsin Bank & Trust in Madison, Wisconsin. Both banks are members of Heartland Financial USA, Inc., a Forbes Best Bank 2017.

In making the announcement, Wallace E. Anderson, chairman of the Rocky Mountain Bank board of directors, said, “We are excited to have Kevin join our executive leadership team. Tenpas’ Background
Tenpas has over 30 years of experience in banking including his most recent position as President and CEO at Wisconsin Bank & Trust. Under his leadership and commitment, Coleman Publishing named the bank the United States USDA Business & Industry Lender of the Year for 2006. Since joining the bank in 1998, he has seen the bank grow from $200MM in assets to over $1 billion, with $900MM in commercial and ag loans.
He has a long history of civic involvement as a former Wisconsin Main Street State Board Member, volunteerism and philanthropy. He was treasurer and one of the founders with the late Green Bay Packer, Reggie White and his wife, Sara, of Urban Hope, which empowers aspiring entrepreneurs to realize their dreams of owning and operating their own business.
Tenpas holds a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He was named Wisconsin SBA’s Financial Services Advocate of the Year and an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist in 2002. He and his wife Deb have three children and his interests include traveling, downhill skiing and rugby.
