Before the green flag, 176 fans made the pledge to be the designated driver for their group. All of them had the opportunity to receive a free souvenir photo and a chance to be selected as the Designated Driver for the race. One randomly selected, responsible fan will win the Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes. The grand prize includes two tickets and two VIP experiences to the next Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway.
The Designated Driver for the Race from June, Martin Carr, was selected at random from all of the fans who entered last month as the winner of the NASCAR Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes. He and his guest received two tickets, a VIP experience, and a behind-the-scenes tour in recognition of his commitment to enjoying race day a Pocono Speedway responsibly.
“The safety of guests is paramount,” said Pocono Raceway CEO Nick Igdalsky. “All of our guests are extended members of the Pocono Raceway Family and we want to see everyone arrive home safe. We are very proud of those guests who pledged to be designated drivers and we thank them for being responsible and helping to get our ‘family’ members home safely after a tremendous day of racing.”
"The success of the Responsibility Has Its Rewards campaign is a direct result of the commitment from our members and all the designated-driver program partners,” said Jill Pepper, executive director of TEAM Coalition. "Teamwork is what this campaign is all about. We are demonstrating that when everyone – including the fans – takes responsibility, everyone wins."
