Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first baby was born on May 6 despite speculations that the Duchess of Sussex is giving birth in the second week of this month. The Royal couple has a son, and as reported earlier, there was no photoshoot from the hospital.
On the Duke and Duchess’ official Instagram page, the birth of the baby was announced, and it reads: “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.”
Prince Harry and Meghan introduced their child to Queen Elizabeth yesterday, and the couple also showed off their child to the world during that time at the St. George’s Hall at Windsor Castle. The former “Suits” actress said that “it was magic and amazing” when asked about the birth of her first child.
“I have the two best guys in the world, so I’m really happy,” Time quoted her as saying. “He has the sweetest temperament. He’s really calm.”
In any case, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also revealed the name of their son. As announced, baby Sussex has been named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. He is now the seventh in line to the British throne. But then, Archie will not be called "his royal highness" as the policy for granting of royal titles have been changed and restricted in the last century.
Meanwhile, Hello! Has a theory why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave that name to their firstborn. The publication deduced that the Royal couple came up with the moniker based on their names. Harrison was made from Harry’s name, and Archie is an acronym of Meghan’s real name which is Rachel. If this is really the case, then baby Sussex’s name is extra special and meaningful.
