‘Poldak’ season 3 expected to return to BBC One on spring 2017 with Aidan Turner’s Ross and Eleanor Tomlinson’s Demelza.
According to Digital Spy, the British-American drama television series starring Turner as the titular Ross Poldark is expected to return sometime in spring of 2017. The series is currently filming following the announcement of its renewal on BBC One last July 2016.
It was also reported that there are no confirmations for renewal until season 5 despite rumors. However, Turner reassured waiting fans, “If it continues to be where it's at, I can't see a reason why we wouldn't continue."
According to Cornwall Live, Turner was spotted filming on-set in Cornwall in various locations from from Porthcurno to Bodmin Moor. Cornwall is a county of England known for its rugged coastline and impressive cliffs. Tin mining is historically significant in the area and features heavily in the series.
Final scenes for season 2 were shot on location at the beach at Holywell Bay, near Newquay, last March. It was also reported that all the extra interior scenes for season 3 were shot at the Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol in addition to scenes on Cornwall.
Season 3 is set to bring in more drama for the characters of the beloved series and will follow the continuing misadventures of its lead protagonist Ross. The incoming season may reveal the true identity of Elizabeth’s (Heida Reed) child as well as the consequences of Ross’ unfaithfulness to his wife Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson).
According to the Daily Mail, season 3 will also introduce a host of new characters including Demelza's brothers, Drake and Sam, as well as Elizabeth’s cousin Morwenna. Writer Debbie Horsfield teased, "We're thrilled to be kicking off Series 3 with a fantastic array of new characters and a story which scales new heights of conflict, feuding, passion and drama.”
She added, "Ross is older but not necessarily wiser, and his recklessness sometimes costs him, and his loved ones, dear. We're in for a rollercoaster ride where the stakes have never been higher."
‘Poldark’ season 3 is expected to return on BBC one sometime in the spring of 2017. The series stars Aidan Turner as Ross, Eleanor Tomlinson as Demelza, Heida Reed as Elizabeth, Jack Farthing as George, Ruby Bentall as Verity, Caroline Blakiston as Aunt Agatha, Beatie Edney as Prudie, Luke Norris as Dr. Dwight Enys, and Gabriella Wilde as Caroline.
