Pizza and ramen, two beloved comfort foods in Japan, have joined forces in Pizza Hut's latest culinary creation. The Kotteri-fuu Ramen Pizza combines the best of both worlds, offering a limited-time dining experience for enthusiasts of these popular dishes.
SoraNews 24 reported that this unique pizza stands out, featuring the signature broth of Tenka Ippin, a renowned ramen restaurant with a half-century of rich history and top rankings in popularity polls.
Perfect Harmony of Flavors
The secret behind the Kotteri-fuu Ramen Pizza lies in its generous use of Tenka Ippin's creamy broth, created from chicken bones and a blend of over a dozen vegetables. Typically, this flavorful broth would soak through a pizza crust.
However, Pizza Hut worked meticulously with the ramen chain to achieve a more viscous consistency, resulting in a sauce-like texture without compromising taste or aroma. The pizza is generously slathered in the unique broth. At the same time, customers also receive an additional sauce sachet on the side, allowing them to customize the flavor according to their preference.
Nod to Authentic Japanese Cuisine
With each bite, the Kotteri-fuu Ramen Pizza evokes the essence of a comforting bowl of noodles, only with a twist. Pizza Hut faced the challenge of preserving the noodle's texture while seamlessly incorporating it into the pizza topping.
Through their innovation, they decided to use crispy dough as the base, ensuring a harmonious combination of all the ingredients. The result is a mouthwatering creation showcasing the best ramen and pizza in a single dish.
Pizza Hut's newest product, the Ramen Pizza, is the culmination of intensive research and development, requiring six months of perfection. This innovative creation emerged from the company's TikTok video initiative, designed to astonish customers by pushing the boundaries of culinary imagination. Additionally, it aligns with Pizza Hut's tagline, "Always more than you can imagine."
The Ramen Pizza marks the third pizza in this groundbreaking series, following the Too Much Coriander Pizza and the Weiner Coffee Pizza, both received widespread acclaim and extended sales due to popular demand.
Limited-Time Delicacy
The Kotteri-fuu Ramen Pizza will be available at Pizza Hut branches throughout Japan from January 22 to February 12. Priced at 1,980 yen (US$13.40) for pickup and 2,230 yen for delivery, this culinary masterpiece is sold in a medium size, perfect for sharing or savoring solo.
Cultivation of Unique Culinary Collaborations
Combining pizza and ramen is not entirely new to Pizza Hut. Three and a half years ago, as per CNN, Pizza Hut Taiwan teamed up with Menya Musashi, a popular ramen joint from Japan, to introduce the world's first ramen pizza.
The Kotteri-fuu Ramen Pizza has piqued the interest of food enthusiasts and pizza lovers, poised to embark on a gastronomic journey like no other.
Pizza Hut's dedication to culinary creativity redefines possibilities for the brand's 50th anniversary year in Japan.
