“Outlander” Season 4 Episode 9 is going to pick up from the events that took place in the previous release. Episode eight saw Brianna (Sophie Skelton) getting sexually assaulted by the despicable pirate Bonnet (Ed Speleers). As such, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) will be helping their daughter recover from her traumatic ordeal.

However, Brianna needs to find her parents first. And she will definitely do in “Outlander” Season 4 Episode 9 as confirmed by the synopsis of the upcoming release.

“Jamie and Claire keep secrets from one another as they try to help Brianna process her recent trauma; the secrets they keep cause a bigger familial rift once they are revealed,” the summary reads. While there is a lot of things that are going to be addressed in “Outlander” Season 4 Episode 9, fans are wondering how the showrunners are going to handle the healing process of Brianna.

Audiences who didn’t see the harrowing event coming were horrified at the scene. The showrunners did a masterful job at portraying the sexual assault, opting out the act itself and focusing on the apathy of the people who were present. Indeed, even when there were other women who heard and knew what was taking place, they didn’t so much as attempt to stop it. Still, Brianna will soldier on in “Outlander” Season 4 Episode 9 and her efforts will be rewarded.

The teaser trailer for the upcoming release saw her approaching Jamie who has no idea she’s talking to her own daughter. Brianna would later reveal the traumatic event that she went through and it seems Jamie and Claire will be out for blood in “Outlander” Season 4 Episode 9. Fans who read the book were hoping that the series would write out the rape scene but the showrunners said that it was integral for the plot going forward.

"There is a lot of rape in Diana’s book. Obviously, we’ve seen some of it and every time we try to figure out what is best for the story. We certainly want to be sensitive to the character who is going through this situation. We knew from the outset that we wanted to [have the rape occur off-screen]. We’re in the room with her at the beginning. Sophie did such an amazing job. It’s just a heart-breaking moment,” executive producer Mark Davis explained. As for when “Outlander” Season 4 Episode 9 will air, it’s been slated for release on Dec. 30.
