Speculations abound shortly after the official trailer for “Outlander” season 4 was released. But a certain skull caught the attention of many and has been speculated on as a hint that more sketchy time travelers are going to be introduced on the show.

The series started out with only Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) consistently traveling through time via the ancient Craigh na Dun. In the events before “Outlander” season 4, fans were introduced to Geillis (Lotte Verbeek), who has been traveling between the 1700s and the 1900s. In the end, she became Claire and Jamie’s nemesis for wanting to alter the events of the past by time traveling.

Meanwhile, the “Outlander” season 4 trailer shows several clues that time traveling through Craigh na Dun might again not be exclusive to Claire and Jamie. One of the most mysterious clips was the one with the skull with a silver filling.

Before the “Outlander” season 4 trailer ends, Claire shows Jamie the said skull and points out that silver filling will not be invented for the next 100 years. She then suggests that it could be “a warning from the future.”

In a fast transition of various scenes, fans may catch a glimpse of Craigh na Dun. With that, reports theorize that someone or some people from different centuries could be converging in the 18th century where Claire and Jamie are. The existence of another portal should also not be ruled out for “Outlander” season 4.

While Claire is seen walking into the ancient stones, reports recall that both Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan previously noted Claire and Jamie’s time together will be more stable in “Outlander” season 4. However, as the official trailer clearly indicates, peaceful times even in 18th century North Carolina can still be elusive for the onscreen couple.

Meanwhile, STARZ has already announced that “Outlander” season 4 will start airing in November. The exact air date for the first episode is still unannounced.
