There are actors out there who are so committed to their roles that they closely examine every detail of their characters in order to immerse themselves further into the story. Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser in "Outlander," is one such actor. This is why fans can’t wait for “Outlander” Season 4 to air.
To expound on how much Sam cares about his character, the actor reportedly scrutinizes every dialogue that is given to him, ensuring that what he’s saying is in line with the personality of Jamie, Express reported. And it goes without saying that this level of commitment will carry over to “Outlander” Season 4.
One particular instance that can be observed regarding this kind of immersion was when Jamie and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) were caught in a storm last season. Sam’s dialogue instructed him to say “Sassenach, if you die on me now, I’ll kill you.” The actor refused to utter the line despite it being included in the book as he felt Jamie wouldn’t have said such a thing. Perhaps there will be more moments like this in “Outlander” Season 4.
The fourth installment will also feature a new character, Rollo. This new addition is the loyal companion of Young Ian Murray (John Bell), a half-wolf breed who became part of the ever-growing Fraser family. Entertainment Weekly has provided two new pictures of the two for “Outlander” Season 4.
According to book author Diana Gabaldon, Ian and Rollo first met on the docks in North Carolina. Ian managed to obtain the half-wolf by winning the dog in a card game, after which the two formed an inseparable bond with each other. “Outlander” Season 4 will expound on this relationship and Sam and Caitriona even hinted that Rollo will appear in the next installment when they gave five words during an interview as a sort of teaser for fans.
Those five words were babies, bears, neighbors, dogs, and home. “Outlander” Season 4 is scheduled to air in November and fans can’t wait to find out what’s in store for the Fraser family.
