“One Punch Man” chapter 96 will be released this week. Aside from having a fresh manga installment in less than two weeks, the possibility of a battle between Lord Orochi and Saitama makes the upcoming chapter worthy to look forward to.
Over the weekend, illustrator Yusuke Murata announced on Twitter that “One Punch Man” chapter 96 will be officially released on Friday, Sept. 21. It was welcome news to fans as some might have anticipated a much longer break after having two lengthy chapters last Aug. 10 and Sept. 10.

With “One Punch Man” chapter 96 releasing within two weeks since the “Speedster” installment, fans will soon find out how the invasion of the Monster Association HQ will conclude. It is also interesting that the two major characters from the Monsters and the Heroes side — Lord Orochi and Saitama, respectively — were not present in the fights that occurred in chapter 95.
It is unclear how long “One Punch Man” chapter 96 will be but some suggest it could include a conclusion to this arc. If that will be the case, fans can expect Saitama to arrive at the Monster Association base, which could force Lord Orochi to join the battle.
Some fans expressed their disappointment that not a single Hero was hurt thinking that the Monsters would have naturally had a home court advantage. There were comments that leaving all the Heroes unharmed in chapter 95 was quite unrealistic. But, who knows, things could change in “One Punch Man” chapter 96 and some of the good guys might not leave the base alive or unscathed.
Aside from the possible battle of Saitama and Lord Orochi, “One Punch Man” chapter 96 will likely give more space for the continuation of Flashy Flash’s fight against Gale Wind and Hellfire Flame. In the last parts of chapter 95, the story focused on the three characters. While fighting for his life, Flashy Flash was also determined to make the villains confirm who hired them.
Later, Flashy Flash challenged them to transform into their monster forms. “One Punch Man” chapter 96 will definitely open with Gale Wind and Hellfire Flames in their monster personas which, unfortunately for Flashy Flash, are both Dragon-level monsters.
