‘One Piece’ chapter 970: Will Kaido fight fairly in his battle against Oden?

One Piece / Facebook

In “One Piece” chapter 970, one of the most highly anticipated events in the Wano arc will finally be happening. The powerful Oden will finally be facing off Kaido in an undoubtedly epic battle that will give the latter his scar. But fans are still divided as to who might bet the stronger fighter between the two while some fans doubt if the fight will be fair one at all.

In the previous chapter, Oden learned from Orochi that Hyogoro is in the hands of Kaido. This riled up the simple-minded daimyo so much that he’s raring to fight it out without taking into consideration that it might be a trap laid by Orochi and his crafty advisers.

At the end of the chapter, Oden can be seen marching towards where Kaido is. His most trusted and loyal subordinates, who will later be known as the Nine Red Scabbards, decided to accompany their lord in this journey.

Thus, the stage is set for the confrontation between Kaido and Oden to finally happen in “One Piece” chapter 970. But before the fight even started, fans are already speculating which is the stronger fighter between the two.

There are those who believe that Oden will only win because of some unfair means. There is no doubt that Orochi is a traitor by nature and will definitely use foul means to give Kaido an advantage in “One Piece” chapter 970.

But most fans aren’t sold out in that idea. As strong as Oden might be portrayed in the flashback, some fans believe that Kaido will still win the round in “One Piece” manga chapter 57 even without Orochi’s tricks.

In fact, fans expect Kaido to fight fair. “Plus we know that as evil as he is, Kaido fights fair,” Reddit user Zoro_Messatsu pointed out. “If he wanted Big Mom gone he could have attacked her while she was in seastone. No way was she defeating him then. We are told how he challenged navy/yonko single-handedly. Why should he become a cheater all of a sudden?”

Meanwhile, some fans have interesting theories on how Oden might still be alive to this day. “We know Kaido is very strong…” u/Chinmay-Agarwal posted on Reddit. “Kaido would probably win against Oden on his own but did he?? Was the execution even real as there is that copy copy devil fruit now? Could Kaido have kept Oden captured somewhere all this time?”

One of the events in the previous chapter that has perplexed fans is why Oden danced for five years. Omnitos theorized that “some kind of devil fruit power like ‘smile’ was used on Oden so that it rendered him useless and a mere dancer till 5 years.”

But all the years he spent dancing will be of some help in his coming battle with Kaido. “It seems that Oden will win the battle because Oden has been in dance training since to balance his coordination,” Spoiler Guy wrote.

It’s very exciting to read all the speculations that have been coming out. However, all will be revealed when “One Piece” chapter 970 arrives on February 2, 2020.
