“One Piece” Episode 861 is going to be an emotional run as one character is expected to die during the escape from Cacao Island. The character in question is Pound, Chiffon’s father and Oven’s stepfather, OtakuKart reported.

In “One Piece” Episode 861, Pound will try to stop Oven from eliminating Bege and his fleet. The decision cost him his life, with Oven himself delivering the killing blow. Unfortunately, the protagonists will have no time to mourn their loss as Pound’s sacrifice will be for naught if Oven gets hold of them.

As such, they made use of the small window that Pound gave them, distancing themselves from Cacao Island and out of Oven’s reach. While the death of Pound is going to cause a forlorn atmosphere in “One Piece” Episode 861, viewers will feel a bit of respite in the form of Sanji landing a blow to Oven.

It may not seem much, but it’s something. Meanwhile, Luffy will be ready to face Katakuri again and their fight will continue just how it started, with the Straw Hat captain getting his teeth kicked in. Unfortunately, there may be little to show in terms of action sequences during “One Piece” Episode 861.

After all, the series needs to provide some room to honor Pound’s sacrifice. However, “One Piece” Episode 861 will likely herald the second part of Luffy and Katakuri’s battle, which means chapter 862 may be full of engaging fight scenes once more.

In the manga, Luffy slowly gains the respect of Katakuri as the straw hat-wearing pirate’s Kenbunshoku Haki slowly develops before the eyes of the Three Sweet Commander. Realizing that he might actually lose to Luffy, Katakuri tried to end the battle quickly. That proved to be a difficult task as Luffy gets back up time and again after receiving blows that would’ve killed most characters in the series. Of course, as said earlier, none of this will be shown in “One Piece” Episode 861 as the show is adapting the manga slowly.

The previous chapter saw only 12 pages of the source material being featured, which irked some of the fans. Hopefully, “One Piece” Episode 861 will depict more of the story when it airs on Nov. 11.
