“One Piece” chapter 942 will definitely have several important storylines happening at once. Two of the most likely developments could include Luffy finally understanding how to use an advanced technique of the Busoshoku Haki. Meanwhile, Zoro could be forced to prematurely fight Orochi because of Toko.
In the past couple of episodes, Hyogoro finally showed why he is one of the samurais needed to fulfill Toki’s vision 20 years ago for the final battle in Wano. During an execution game, that turned out as Luffy’s training sessions, the old man demonstrated how the use advanced Busoshoku Haki — a move that Luffy wants to master while he is still in the Prisoner Mines. Due to the events in the latest installment, it would not be surprising if “One Piece” chapter 942 shows the Straw Hat captain finally using it correctly.
Luffy already showed he can use the Busoshoku Haki in an earlier arc, but not the advanced technique where he could forcefully attack an opponent without even touching them. Fans might know by now that Luffy will most definitely learn how to use this technique, the only question is whether or not it is happening in “One Piece” chapter 942. Luffy would reach another level of greatness if he ends up using this new power along with Kenbonshoku Haki that allows him to see his opponent’s next moves.
Meanwhile, it is also almost certain that Luffy will soon break out of prison with Hyogoro to fulfill their alliance’s plan of taking back Wano from Orochi. There is no assurance yet that it is happening in “One Piece” chapter 942, though, because earlier installments foreshadowed that freeing more anti-Orochi prisoners in nearby jails could be a great addition to Kin’emon’s forces.
On the other hand, manga readers saw Toko rushing to save her father in chapter 941. However, this would also mean exposing to Orochi that Komurasaki — a.k.a. Lady Hiyori Kozuki — is still alive. Since it seems like the next events are likely going to be even more chaotic, the possibility of seeing Zoro prematurely fighting with Orochi in “One Piece” chapter 942 is not far-fetched. The main issue here is that Zoro has yet to be fully healed and retrieve a couple of his swords. “One Piece” chapter 942 is expected to be released on May 12.
