After meeting a lot of new and familiar faces in the previous chapters of the Wano arc, chapter 922 finally showed that a true major battle — Kaido vs. Luffy — is about to begin in “One Piece” chapter 923. However, there are speculations that it will not end well for the main protagonist.
The official teasers for “One Piece” chapter 923 are out and they prove Luffy will have a very bad day ahead. Thanks to a translation from Oro Jackson, it is confirmed that the next chapter will focus on the battle between Kaido and Luffy.
Luffy’s attack at the end of chapter 922 will make Kaido fall to the ground. He then rushes to Oden Castle to check on his friends. Along the way, he finds Speed, who will report that she and Tama faced Kaido after they left Okobore.
As expected, Speed is no match for Kaido and it implies that Tama is once again in trouble. Luffy will feel bad for not being with Tama but Law will convince him to escape for the meantime. But, knowing Luffy, he opts to fight Kaido in “One Piece” chapter 923.
Luffy then goes back to face the drunk Kaido in his dragon form. The latter lets out another Boro Breath attack but Luffy will manage to avoid it. Shortly after this sequence in “One Piece” chapter 923, the Beasts Pirates captain will return to his human form.
Luffy then transforms into the Boundman and will pummel Kaido with a Kong Organ. The main protagonist follows up with a series of attacks in “One Piece” chapter 923. But Kaido is strong enough to endure all these moves despite being drunk, and Luffy will wear out his energy before knocking out his opponent.
Unfortunately, once Luffy grows physically tired, Kaido finally “sobers up” and will release a Thunder Divination in “One Piece” chapter 923. It will badly hurt Luffy, and the translated teaser says he becomes “unconscious with blood running from his head.” This is going to be Kaido’s signal to mock him and call him a brat.
With Luffy knocked out of his senses and Law being too careful not to agitate Kaido even more, there is a chance for the Straw Hats leader to become the Beasts Pirates’ latest prisoner. “One Piece” chapter 923 will be officially released on Nov. 5.
