New Cybertruck Sends Owner to Emergency Room Before He Even Gets to Drive It

Tesla Cybertruck causes injury, sending new owner to ER before first drive.

A new Tesla Cybertruck owner was hospitalized with a severe wrist injury sustained during delivery, raising safety concerns about the vehicle's sharp body panels.

Tesla Cybertruck's Rough Start: Sharp Edges, Delivery Issues, and a Hospital Visit for New Owner

At best, the introduction of the Tesla Cybertruck has not gone smoothly. There have been accounts circulating regarding an incident where a car wash bricked a Cybertruck, franks causing finger injuries, and the fact that coolant leakage is not warranted, even after just 35 miles of driving since delivery. According to Gizmodo, all of these are valid concerns that would appropriately annoy anyone, but the most problematic issue surfacing is the body panels' potential sharpness. A brand-new proprietor of a Cybertruck even required hospitalization due to a wrist injury sustained during delivery.

One user announced in the Cybertruck Owners Club forum that their Cybertruck was in the final stages of shipment preparation. When they arrived to retrieve it, the truck was, regrettably, in "sloppy, sloppy condition at delivery." The windshield's interior was filthy and covered in some film. "Body panels have some sort of splattery overspray on them that doesn't wipe off - it just smears around." Additionally, the hood was covered in minor rust spots, necessitating the purchase of Barkeeper's Friend. A loose rubber barrier was also located on the driver's side of the tonneau cover.

These concerns would vex anyone who purchased a brand-new automobile for $100,000, but they are also fairly commonplace for Cybertruck deliveries. The same thing occurred when they drove it at approximately 60 mph, and a bed panel detached. Although one wouldn't expect to avoid such issues when purchasing a new automobile, nothing is atypical when discussing the Cybertruck.

However, there have been no reports of a Cybertruck causing a consumer to lose blood before they departed from the parking lot:

"Two of the Delivery/Advisor employees were with my wife and me as we walked around the truck inspecting it. I noticed a little pit/divet or something on the tailgate. I licked my left thumb and tried to rub the spot to see if it was actually a divet or just some stray adhesive or something… OUCH! Crap. I jerked my arm back, and the employees chuckled jokingly, saying this thing can be dangerous. I, too, thought it was a little slice like a paper cut… Until the blood started pouring. A lot of blood…"

Cybertruck's Sharp Edges Cause Severe Injury, Sending New Owner to ER Shortly After Delivery

Indeed, the Cybertruck caused a severe cut on his forearm. You may locate a photograph depicting the injury in the forum, though it is highly improbable that you would like to follow that hyperlink. A spoiler tag is even included on the original post because many individuals could do without seeing an incidental cut wrist before lunch.

Fortunately, the two Tesla staff members successfully attended to his wounds by bandaging and cleaning him up to the extent that the delivery could be completed. However, two hours later, he believed the hemorrhaging had subsided sufficiently to remove the wrapping. That turned out to be an error. "I unwrapped my wrist and BOOM - spurts of blood all over the kitchen island…," he wrote, "which leaves me here, at the ER."

Although we intend to refrain from professing ourselves as manufacturing experts, it seems improbable that a vehicle should feature edges sharp enough to cause such a severe injury from an incidental touch. That does not make sense. However, what does a collection of internet authors know? This may be an additional instance of Elon Musk's extraordinary brilliance that we are too stupid to comprehend.
