The NEM.io Foundation, a non-profit set up to promote NEM blockchain technology, has announced the launch of two NEM Blockchain Hubs to foster blockchain education, CryptoNinjas reported.

One blockchain hub has been set up Australia and the other in New Zealand:

• In Australia, the hub is located at The Precinct in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. It is hosted by TravelByBit, a NEM funded company.
• In New Zealand, it has been established at EPIC Westport at Westport. It will be hosted by the CerebralFix Group.

The hubs will have a dedicated NEM representative who will be responsible for sharing the basic foundations of blockchain and cryptocurrencies with the public and community members. They will extend support to startups and enterprises that are seeking to implement blockchain technology. They will regularly organize activities, workshops, hackathons and forum throughout the year.

The Foundation is going to host a launch event at EPIC Westport on July 25, and at The Precinct on August 10.

“The priority for the NEM Blockchain Hubs is to educate and inform the general public and businesses about the benefits and applications of blockchain. Secondly, we want to be able to attract software developers, startups and the wider blockchain community to explore and develop use care of the NEM blockchain technology platform,” Jason Lee, NEM.io Foundation’s Expansion Director for Australia and New Zealand, said. “The Foundation has an existing fund which has been helping kick-start six companies in Australia and New Zealand and with the launch of these hubs, we are looking forward to fund more businesses and work with ecosystem members who would like to go on this journey with us.
