Major changes await “NCIS” season 16. However, fans are still asking if there is still a chance that Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) will ever return to the series even though the show has found its new forensic expert in Kasie Hines (Diona Reasonover).
Obviously, one of the major changes happening in “NCIS” season 16 is not seeing Abby in the team’s upcoming missions. While Abby left the show without dying, her exit was anchored in the shocking death of Clayton Reeves (Duane Henry).
The fact that Abby left the show alive left an opening for many to speculate that maybe, in the future, Pauley Perrette will return. However, it is still too early to expect that Perrette is ever coming back. After all, it was a big decision on the actor’s part to leave a show that she had been a part of for over the past decade.
However, there is a consolation some are considering with regards to an Abby-less “NCIS” season 16. In a roundup of theories about “NCIS” season 16, CarterMatt suggests that the remaining cast members will be shown communicating (of course, it’s fictional) with Abby. This way, the showrunners might insert some small details on how Abby is doing now that she’s dedicated her life to pursuing Reeves’ dreams of helping girls like her.

Following the confirmation of Perrette’s exit, several rumors circulated attempting to provide answers as to why she will no longer partake in “NCIS” season 16. But the actress straightened out the story and said in a written note, "NO I DON'T HAVE A SKIN CARE LINE AND NO MY NETWORK AND SHOW ARE NOT MAD AT ME! It was a decision made last year. I hope everyone will love and enjoy EVERYTHING ABBY not only for the rest of this season but for everything she has given all of us for 16 years. All the love, all the laughter, all the inspiration…I love her as much as you do."

Meanwhile, what sealed Abby’s departure from the show is the news that actress Diona Reasonover was signed as the newest series regular in “NCIS” season 16. Fans may remember her in several previous episodes.
Reasonover’s character, Kasie, was with Abby on multiple occasions inside the lab. And with that, fans will be seeing the newest addition to the team and the new forensic scientist starting in “NCIS” season 16.
