Michael Schumacher is celebrating his 50th birthday on Jan. 3 and to mark the day, it was revealed that this family is planning a celebration for him. Although it is Shumi’s birthday, it seems that the fans have received an early gift instead, as the Schumacher family finally released a statement about the F1 champ.
Fans have been begging for years for Michael Schumacher’s family to give updates about his condition but the family still chose to remain silent. However, on his special day, the family has been more open than ever and posted a long message on Schumi's official Facebook page.
In the post, Michael Schumacher’s family expressed their gratitude to the fans and everyone else who have been supporting the racing champ until now. They also stated that they know that together with the fans and those who love Schumi that “We can do this together” which is likely referring to the racer’s journey to full recovery.
The family also revealed that it was actually Michael Schumacher’s wish to keep his condition private and they are asking for understanding.
“Please understand if we are following Michael's wishes and keeping such a sensitive subject as health, as it has always been, in privacy,” part of the message reads. “At the same time, we say thank you very much for your friendship and wish you a healthy and happy year 2019."
Moreover, based on the statement it seems that the F1 legend is doing well so far and the Schumacher family assured everyone that Michael is being cared of in the best way they can. “You can be sure that he is in the very best of hands and that we are doing everything humanly possible to help him,” the family wrote.
Plus, the fact that they are celebrating Michael Schumacher’s 50th birthday suggests that the racing star is in his best condition and very fit to celebrate with his family and friends. Lastly, the family also revealed that they are launching The Official Michael Schumacher App to allow fans to celebrate the champ’s achievements and big success even through a virtual museum.
“The app is another milestone to do justice to him and you, his fans, by celebrating his accomplishments. We wish you a lot of fun with it,” the family relayed.
