Katie Holmes and her 12-year-old daughter Suri Cruise spent time at a refugee camp in Greece. However, they made that meaningful trip, the mother-and-daughter duo met another rumor. A tabloid claimed that the young girl attempted to run away from home to be with her father Tom Cruise.
The rumor was started by the publication called New Idea. The tabloid’s claim is based on a photo of Suri with her suitcase outside their New York City home, Gossip Cop reports. “Suri has made a decision that she wants to spend more time with her dad. Now that she’s 12, she’s decided she wants to have more of a relationship with him and has really been pushing her mom to let her see him,” a source purportedly claimed.
However, the fact-checking news outlet clarified that Suri was actually with Holmes when the photo was taken. They were reportedly on their way to Greece to visit the Moria Refugee Camp in partnership with the organization Artolution. Their meaningful trip was also documented in Holmes’ Instagram page. Her latest post was a photo of Suri cheerfully playing another kid at the said refugee camp.
In another photo taken at the Moria Refugee Camp, Holmes is seen painting as another woman documents her activities. “I love these women who became our friends as we collaborated on many different projects this week. I am so very grateful for this experience. The resilience of these women is so profound and truly inspiring to witness. and I pray for refugees everywhere,” the “Dawson’s Creek” alum wrote.
Since Holmes and Tom divorced in 2012, Suri has been with her mother making fans assume that she got primary physical and legal custody of their daughter. Us Weekly reported last October that the “Mission Impossible” star is allowed to visit his daughter for 10 days every month. However, an insider claimed it has been his choice not to see her.
