Jung Joon Young exerted efforts to open his first restaurant in Paris. However, all of his hard work including time and money spent to set up the establishment will go to waste as launching the restaurant now is impossible.
After Jung Joon Young was charged with illegal filming and distribution of sex videos last week, the likelihood that his Maison de Coree will open to the public in Paris dimmed. Moreover, while the singer and variety show personality will not be able to work while investigation ongoing, the investors already pulled out as well so no one will be able to take care of the business now.
One of the staff of Jung Joon Young’s restaurant in Paris also revealed that the establishment was meant to be a pop-up restaurant and they planned to operate for two weeks only so not opening it as a permanent dining place is somehow alright.
"It was never officially opened, and it was always planned as a 2-week pop-up restaurant short-term rental. The chefs and related professionals were only planned to be there for 2 weeks as well,” Allkpop quoted the unidentified staff as saying. “At the time, the response wasn't bad and it became a hit in South Korea, so Jung Joon Young was thinking of opening a restaurant officially. However, with his recent controversy, 50% of the investors pulled out, and the plans have fallen through."
Jung Joon Young opened the Korean restaurant in Paris in October 2018 and after running the pop-up dining place for a month, the singer decided to formally launch Maison de Coree this year. Korean star chef Lee Jun and popular bartender Lee Jin Young have been invited to handle the food and drinks in the restaurant, but apparently, the restaurant is closing down for good.
Meanwhile, the police have sought an arrest warrant for Jung Joon Young after being thoroughly questioned on two separate occasions. His involvement in the biggest Kpop sex scandal to date is escalating as more celebrities are linked to sex crimes and even gambling.
