Jennifer Aniston’s 50th birthday bash has attracted the attention of many media outlets because of its star-studded guest list. But one partygoer, in particular, became the subject of reports days later and that is no less than Aniston’s ex-husband, Brad Pitt.
The “Friends” alum turned 50 on Feb. 11 but the widely reported party at the Sunset Tower in Los Angeles, California took place a day early. Several Hollywood stars and friends of Aniston were present at the party. But reports imply that the event was extra special as it was purportedly one of the few moments where Aniston and Pitt had reunited.
A source of Us Weekly said Aniston and Pitt “briefly” spoke to one another at the party, which is not that bizarre since party hosts normally take the time to greet each of their guests. “At one point she hugged him and thanked him for coming,” the same tipster added.
However, another report from New Idea claimed that Pitt also attended a more intimate birthday event for Aniston. Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres reportedly arranged a dinner celebration with only a total of 13 attendees before the Sunset Tower party.
New Idea’s insider had a more colorful story about Aniston and Pitt’s interaction at the said dinner. “They'd just ordered some drinks when Brad walked over to the table and Jen nearly fell off her chair when she realised it was him - bursting out in tears it was clear all the emotions of the past few months had finally come to a head,” the source claimed. But the report about a more intimate birthday dinner for Aniston has since been debunked by Gossip Cop.
The fact-checking news outlet confirmed through common friends with DeGeneres and de Rossi that the couple “never” arranged a dinner for Aniston’s birthday. A representative of Pitt also denied that he attended an event other than the Sunset Tower party.
It will not be surprising that Pitt’s reunion with Aniston would further spark dating rumors. But it is important to note that Pitt is not the only ex that arrived at the party as John Mayer also showed up to greet the actress a happy birthday.
