Hungarian MKB Bank announces launch of Fintech Academy

Hungary-based MKB Bank has called for applications for its Fintech Academy and also announced Fintech Competition that is aimed to develop and establish up-to-date digital bank through partnerships, Budapest Business Journal (BBJ) reported.

According to the Fintech Academy website, it provides a comprehensive view of the digital world. The Academy deals with the development of digital banking, asset management, and payment services among others. It has invited application from fintech companies as well as individuals working on how to make customer experience more financial management, its possibilities in digital banking and how digital services can be introduced to fit in today's society as well as future needs (roughly translated).

“We believe it is compulsory to invest in the development of domestic financial literacy, and in learning about the latest financial digital technologies,” Márk Hetényi, deputy CEO of MKB Bank’s retail and digital branch said as reported by BBJ.

The Fintech Academy will comprise of a short quiz and whoever completes it and depending on the outcome, will be provided with an electronic certificate and additionally, a virtual badge will also be given for outstanding results in the closing share. The Academy mentors will comprise of leading fintech innovators, developers and experts including Gabor Lema, Think Tank of FINTECH Group; Dr. Trinh Tuan, co-founder of InsurTech Consulting Partner; Richard Vegh, CEO of BSE's, to mention few.

The Fintech Competition is focused on finding the MKB digital financial solutions, innovative digital approaches and offers support in the mentor program, sandbox, focus groups, and specific funding programs. The competition seeks for solutions including personal finance management solution (PFM), Big Data models and social scoring solutions, digital payment solutions , asset management solutions, among others. Those who have completed the Fintech Academy can apply for the competition. Its jury members include Mark Hetényi, Deputy General Manager of MKB Bank; Akos Bartha, MD of MKB Bank and Elek Straub, managing partner of Day One Capital.
