Hulu with Live TV is getting nine additional channels by next month, a full week ahead of the scheduled price hike for its membership plans. With the recent additions, the service is getting a total of 14 new channels before the pricing changes are implemented next month.
Starting Thursday, Dec. 1, Hulu with Live TV subscribers will have access to Vevo channels, including Vevo Pop, Vevo Hip-Hop, Vevo Country, Vevo ‘80s, Vevo ‘90s, and Vevo Holiday. The Spanish-language The Weather Channel will be available on the same day, along with TheGrio Television Network and JusticeCentral.TV
On Monday, Hulu with Live TV members can start watching from three Hallmark channels, including its main channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Customers can also get the Hallmark Drama channel if they opt for the Entertainment Add-on, which costs $7.99 per month.
At the beginning of the month, Hulu with Live TV also gained The Weather Channel and Comedy.TV. The company said in a press release that these additions are the subscribers’ “most requested channels” and that they were made available in the subscription service in time for the holidays.
“With these additions, Hulu + Live TV continues to be one of the most valuable live TV streaming destinations on the market, offering subscribers access to more than 85 live channels and entire on-demand content libraries from Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+,” Hulu SVP of Live TV Content Programming and Partnerships Reagan Feeney said.
Various streaming service providers have implemented price changes throughout 2022, including Disney. It announced last August that the ad-free Disney+ plan will be priced at $10.99 (from $7.99) starting Dec. 8, while it launches an ad-supported tier on the same day.
Earlier this month, Disney added Hulu with Live TV bundles to the list of services that are getting price hikes next month. The following changes will all be implemented on Dec. 8 as well.
The subscription bundle with ad-free Hulu with Live TV, ad-free Disney+, and ad-supported ESPN+ will be priced at $82.99 (from $75.99) per month. New customers cannot subscribe to the bundle with ad-supported Hulu with Live TV, ad-free Disney+, and ad-supported ESPN+. But existing members can continue using this package at a new monthly fee of $74.99 from $69.99.
Meanwhile, the company will start offering a new bundle of ad-free Hulu with Live TV with ad-supported Disney+ and ESPN+ for $69.99 per month. Viewers who only want to access the Live TV channels can subscribe for $68.99 per month.
