CLARKSVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 10, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- H.M. Calvert and Associates is a full-service optometry practice providing medical and surgical eye care for the entire family. With four locations in Clarksville and Franklin, TN as well as Hopkinsville, KY, H.M. Calvert and Associates serves north central Tennessee as well as south central Kentucky. Their surgical centers are located in Clarksville and Hopkinsville while their retail centers are located in Franklin and Clarksville.
Dr. Harold Calvert leads the eye care team at H.M. Calvert and Associates. A board certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Calvert is a proud member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Calvert served in the US Air Force prior to attending medical school at the University of Arkansas College of Medicine. Two years after beginning his practice in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, he opened a new facility in Clarksville, Tennessee in 2003. Dr. Calvert and his team provide eye care for the entire family, including advanced LASIK laser vision correction surgery; advanced cataract surgery; glaucoma and diabetic eye disease treatment; cosmetic & reconstructive eyelid surgery; and laser surgery.
According to Dr. Calvert, "Across our four locations, we can meet any eye care need. We provide routine eye exams and can provide vision correction services, even for those who want to wear contacts but have been unsuccessful in the past. Our retail centers provide full-service exams that not only address vision problems but screen for the earliest signs of eye disease as a result of diabetes or other chronic conditions. Should a patient require more in-depth treatment, such as cataract removal, they are referred to our surgical centers where we can address vision impairment issues that require surgical intervention. Currently, our practice is the only practice that provides LASIK surgery options for patients who are seeking a more permanent option for vision correction."
The team at H.M. Calvert and Associates can diagnose and treat vision issues related to computer use and sports performance. Most eyeglasses and contact lenses are not designed to deflect the problems caused by hours of computer use each day. For patients complaining of eye strain, blurry vision, and headaches related to computer use, the team will perform visual acuity, refraction, and focus and eye coordination tests in order to design a treatment plan to alleviate symptoms while allowing the patient to continue their work. Sports vision testing involves diagnostic tests to assess hand-eye coordination, eye tracking, and depth perception. From there, the team can make recommendations which may involve vision correction, tinted lenses, or sports vision training to improve sports performance.
H.M. Calvert and Associates Optometry are located in Clarksville and Franklin, Tennessee, with Calvert Ophthalmology Centers located in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Clarksville, Tennessee. Hours and services vary by location, visit www.icanseetn.com for more.
