- Bank of England (BOE) governor Mark Carney & deputy governors are about to speak at a conference in London at 10 GMT.
- European Central Bank (ECB) governor Mario Draghi is scheduled to present ECB annual report and participate in a debate today at 14:30 GMT in European Parliament, Brussels.
- Federal Reserve (FED) governor Janet Yellen is scheduled to speak to lawmakers at bi annual event to testify before congress in Washington. Today is the second day of the two day event. The speech is expected to start at 15:00 GMT.
Analogy & expectation
- Pound has recently broken above the immediate resistance at 1.547 & could get further boost if BOE maintains its stance of a rate hike ahead. Pivotal will be individual deputy governor's view. The view of the governors' towards an ailing business sector loan portfolio could be of importance in the medium term.
- The speech from Mr. Draghi will be of very high importance as he might be facing scrutiny not only over monetary policy but the bank's stance on Greek situation. Euro currently trading at 1.136 can take further bullish queue from the comments.
- Today is the second day as governor Yellen explains FED's stance on monetary & regulatory issues. Though historically the second day is of lesser importance in terms of market movement, her comments will be closely monitored. Yesterday's comments were taken on the strides of neutral to mild bearish.
