According to Voice of America (VoA), which is government funded international news source that serves as the United States federal government's official institution for non-military, external broadcasting, China didn’t export any refined oil products to North Korea in October, abiding by the U.N resolution adopted in September in response to Pyongyang’s relentless missile testing. Citing data from Korea International Trade Association, the VoA reported that the volume of Chinese exports of refined products such as gasoline to North Korea dropped to zero in October, down from $166,106 in September. However, China exported $240,000 worth of petroleum products but those items were not under U.N. Security Council resolution.
The UN Security Council adopted a sanctions resolution against Pyongyang in September, in which it capped exports of crude oil to North Korea at current levels, and refined oil products at 2 million barrels a year from 2018 and half a million barrels from October to December 2017. The resolution imposed an all-out ban on condensates and natural gas liquids.
The VoA added that North Korea’s another main trading partner, Russia has not disclosed its trade details with Pyongyang.
