A new trailer for the latest installment in the Activision FPS franchise “Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare” is out and it features the character that Kit Harington plays in the game. Taking on the role of Rear Admiral Salen Kotch, the leader of the Settlement Defense Front’s fleet, Harington’s job is to bring charisma to a table that many gamers have already dropped a ton of garbage on.
It’s no secret that this latest offering by Infinity Ward has received and is still receiving a lot of hate. Just take a look at the game’s first trailer and the vitriol becomes evident. Having someone who is best known for his role as the popular hero in the Game of Thrones series Jon Snow, however, might just give the title the break it needs.
So, how does he fare in the newest trailer? Does he exude the kind of threatening atmosphere that could bring Earth to its knees? According to PC Gamer, the answer is yes and no. While Harington certainly brings some level of charisma to the game, particularly when compared to the rather dull protagonist Captain Nick Reyes, it’s also difficult to see him as a convincing villain.
No surprises there, though as Harington has only ever played the good guy in all his roles, and he looks too handsome for the part. Also, he’s following the heels of one Kevin Spacey, who played one of the most convincing video game antagonists in the history of the industry.
As for the rest of the contents shown in the trailer, it features more of the same as the last, only this time the plight of Earth’s defenders is intensely palpable. Their fleet has been wiped out, the chain of command has been broken, and a clearly conflicted soldier becomes the only hope for the planet. Oh, and Connor McGregor is putting the beat down on somebody, Cinemablend reports.
