So, here are two properties that no one would have expected to cross over, but they did. Final Fantasy XV’s iconic car called the Regalia is coming to the open world racing simulator Forza Horizon 3. Fans of both games are in for a treat as well, since the car comes with frankly impressive specs. Unfortunately, not everyone is going to be able to get their hands on it.
Playable on the Xbox One and the PC, the Regalia will be free to download for Forza Horizon 3 next week, Slash Gear reports. Spanning 21 feet in length and 7 feet in width, this royal vehicle is meant to sport a 7.2L, V12 supercharger that produces up to 562 horsepower. That is a whole lot of muscle going on those tracks.
Of course, in FF XV, the Regalia had features that made it not only a convenient aspect of the game but also an exciting one. In a recent update, for example, Square Enix added the option to make the vehicle into an off-road truck, which finally allowed players to take the car on wilder landscapes. Before, it was confined simply to actual roads.
The Regalia could even be turned into an actual flying machine. Unfortunately, none of these will be coming to the version available on Forza Horizon 3.
What’s more, there is a catch that players need to take note of. The car will only be available to players who played either the racing simulator or the JRPG on the Xbox One before the car becomes available. This means that gamers need to own one or both of these games and play them on or before August 1st if they want to get their hands on the vehicle.
Without going as far in terms of gushing about Forza Horizon 3 as Kotaku does, the addition of the Regalia certainly provides the game with an excellent level of fan service. If nothing else, this makes the game more endearing to players.
